On June 28, 2022, the FinU Nobel Hall hosted the final extended meeting of the FinU Academic Council for this academic year.

Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector started the solemn part of the meeting with a welcoming speech, where he summed up the academic year results, noting that FinU faculty successfully overcame new challenges.

“The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, being the leading university of domestic education, is confidently advancing in national and world rankings. It continues to expand the educational field, launch innovative educational platforms and form links with the leading universities of the country,” emphasized Rector Prokofiev.

Stanislav Prokofiev drew the attention of the meeting participants to the key tasks for the future, including the transformation of higher education and science towards solving the tasks on the national development agenda, achieving national goals and ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country.

Rector Prokofiev also emphasized the importance of educational, scientific, technological cooperation with Russian and foreign universities and the importance of the principles of flexibility, practical orientation, as well as the fundamental nature of education and science.

As part of the extended meeting, a solemn ceremony of signing an agreement on cooperation between the State Duma Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government and the FinU took place. The document was signed by Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, and Alexey Didenko, Chairman of the State Duma Committee. Within the framework of the agreement, it is planned to develop cooperation in a range of areas in the field of educational, scientific, expert and consulting activities in order to develop the potential of the regional management system and create conditions for the sustainable development of the economy and social sphere of the country.

The meeting continued with the awarding ceremony of the finalists and winners of the ecological and educational project “ReNature. Let’s bring nature back to the city”, organized with the support of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of the City of Moscow on the territory of the Botanical Garden of the Moscow State University “Aptekarsky Vegetable Garden”.

In a solemn atmosphere, students who distinguished themselves in scientific, educational and social activities were awarded certificates of nominal scholarships by Mikhail Eskindarov, FinU President (foreign students) and by Professor Galina Sillaste (the best students of sociology), as well as Alexandr Kozharinov nominal scholarship for active participation in FinU events and a nominal scholarship “Dynasty”.

According to the established tradition, FinU Rector presented corporate awards to the university employees.

The working part of the Academic Council meeting was opened with a report by Elena Markina, Vice-Rector on the work results of state examination commissions and the tasks of faculties, and departments for the new 2022/2023 academic year.

Also during the meeting, the Academic Council considered other significant issues related to the FinU main activities.
