Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University, paid a working visit to the Tula region.

The program of the Rector’s working trip began with a visit to the Tula branch of the Financial University. The issues of modernizing the educational process and scientific activities of the University were on the agenda. During the visit, Stanislav Prokofiev had a tour around the branch’s campus and met with the faculty.

“Today, the Tula branch of the Financial University is rightfully considered the leading regional center for training specialists in the financial sector, whose graduates are invariably distinguished by deep knowledge and thorough professional training,” said the Rector, on assessing the activities of the branch.

For high achievements in educational and scientific activities, Stanislav Prokofiev presented corporate awards to the best faculty of the branch of the Financial University and assured the teaching staff that, within the framework of the development strategy of the University’s branch network, the parent university will continue to support the Tula branch in solving the tasks of training highly qualified personnel, taking into account the requests of employers and public authorities of the Tula region on the basis of current trends in social-economic development of the region’s economy.

During his visit to the Tula Region, Stanislav Prokofiev held a working meeting with Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, First Deputy Governor of the Tula Region, during which the parties outlined the main areas of cooperation on personnel training and discussed plans for joint activities to develop the regional higher education system.

The FinU Rector also met with representatives of the Government of the Tula region, the banking sector, the Department of the Federal Treasury and the Department of the Federal Tax Service of the region. Discussing possible prospects for cooperation, Chairman of the Tula Region Committee on Science and Innovation Anton Emelianenko stressed the following, “The development of higher education and the personnel training system is one of the priority areas of work included in the strategy of socio-economic development of the Tula region, which was approved by Governor Alexey Dyumin”.

In turn, Stanislav Prokofiev noted that the University’s management is open to suggestions and is ready to adjust educational programs to the needs of the region’s economy.

Following the meeting, the participants proposed to expand the areas of training in basic educational programs and additional education programs as well as develop cooperation in organizing internships for students.
