On May 12, 2022, the first Graduate Student Day was held at the Financial University. The event was organized by the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty Vadim Zasko. The event aimed to introduce undergraduates to the master’s programs offered by the Faculty and show a possible trajectory of professional development.

“The master’s degree is a necessary and important stage of education, which deepens your knowledge and gives specific practical experience. This year we have relaunched all our master’s programs, focusing on the following component of the educational process: we have formed a pool of practicing teachers who will share real-life cases with students. We will also pay special attention to the possibility of implementing real business projects so that students have the opportunity to put their ideas into practice during their studies,” comments Vadim Zasko, Dean of the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis.

In her welcoming speech, the moderator of the event, Deputy Dean for Project Management Larisa Grundel drew the attention of the participants to the diversity of the Faculty’s graduate programs, their specific features, uniqueness and consolidation of promising information.

In total, within the framework of the Graduate Student Day, the heads presented 9 master’s degree programs in the fields of study of the Faculty. The presentations were held within the framework of three thematic blocks: audit and corporate reporting, taxation and business analysis.

Head of the Audit and Corporate Reporting Department Roman Bulyga presented to the students the master’s program “Audit and Financial Consulting” – the only program in Russia aimed at the targeted training of auditors and financial consultants. Upon completion of the training, the specialist receives skills and competencies in organizing all types of audit services, financial consulting, and management in these areas.  

​Presentations of the Department’s programs were continued by Olga Rozhnova, Head of the Accounting and Legal Support of Business program. She noted the relevance and prospects of the program, since the profession of an accountant is now being transformed into a business information manager, a person who is able to solve complex methodological tasks for forming an information image of the company. The program provides an opportunity to study Russian and international accounting standards, law and digital technologies, which creates a unique combination of skills for successful career building.

The first block of the Graduate Student Day was completed by the presentation of the graduate program “International Accounting and Audit” under the supervision of Viktor Getman. The program is aimed at studying the main world standards – International Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards. The only program that allows you to gain in-depth professional knowledge of all the current IFRS systems.

The second block of the Graduate Student Day was dedicated to programs in the field of taxation and tax administration. The first of them was the program “Taxes. Accounting. Tax Consulting” under the supervision of Lyubov Goncharenko.

​Dmitry Ryakhovsky presented a brand new and unique program “Taxes and Anti-Crisis Solutions” aimed at training specialists in the field of tax consulting. Consolidation of knowledge in the field of taxation, law, financial technologies and pricing allows you to create an extensive layer of information for optimization, solving the most complex disputes and competent risk assessment. As part of the training, students analyze current cases, study judicial practice, domestic and foreign databases on taxation, which in the future will help them become in-demand specialists in various sectors of the economy.

The third program implemented by the Department is “International Tax Planning”, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.  Head of the program Lyudmila Polezharova elaborated on its features, including methods and technologies of international tax planning and consulting as well as solutions to the problems of taxation in the international sphere for multinational companies.  The program is implemented jointly with the strategic partner “PwC”.  

Undergrads also got acquainted with the graduate program “International Tax Relations”, which is implemented in English under the supervision of Viktor Makhechin. The interactive educational process makes it possible to form modern knowledge and competencies, to access the most comprehensive foreign databases on international taxation, which are the basis for obtaining the most up-to-date information. 

The third block was dedicated to the programs of the Department of Business Analytics. The heads of the concentrations “Business Analytics” and “Financial Analysis and Investment Decisions Evaluation” Vladimir Barilenko and Olga Efimova told senior year students about the features of this field of study.

During the presentation, she also talked about the advantages of the profession of a financial and investment analyst, the most popular competencies, and the formation of a career path.

The guests of the event were also alumni of all these programs, who told future applicants about how the knowledge gained during training helped them to progress in their career.
