On April 29, 2022, representatives of the Financial University had an online meeting with the Embassy of Sri Lanka and representatives of the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. The parties discussed the issues of international cooperation between universities in the educational and scientific fields.
The meeting was opened by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, Professor Janita Abeyvikrema Liyanage.
On behalf of the Financial University, Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work Professor Ekaterina Kameneva welcomed the guests. The negotiations were attended by Head of the Department for International Cooperation Lilia Prikhodko Lilia Prikhodko, Deputy Dean for International Cooperation of the Faculty of Economics and Business Khvicha Kharchilava, as well as Deputy Dean for International Cooperation of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications Daria Osinina, who dwelled on the main activities of the University and ongoing international projects.
In turn, Professor Champika Dharmadasa, a representative of the University of Kelaniya, thanked the management of the Financial University for the meeting, and also expressed great interest in cooperation and the development of joint projects in the field of science and education.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues and identified key areas of academic and scientific cooperation, among which special attention was paid to participation in joint research projects, prospects for cooperation on educational exchange student programs, as well as opportunities for participation in the Visiting Professor program.

Summing up the discussion, the representatives of the Embassy noted that they fully support the development of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the field of science and education, and agreed on a new joint meeting in the near future to discuss new scientific and educational projects.​​​
