Winter School at the University of Grenoble Alpes

Students from the Financial University have successfully completed a short-term educational program within the framework of the Winter School at Grenoble Alpes University in France.

Financial University thanks colleagues from Grenoble Alpes University for organising the Winter School program.

As part of the double degree program with Grenoble Alpes University, which is implemented with the use of remote technologies, students from the Financial University successfully completed a short-term educational program organised within the framework of the Winter School.

The Winter School was quite memorable. It was a great opportunity to meet the faculty and determine who will guide us through the process of the thesis writing. It was also interesting to look at the life of the entire university complex. The visit to Geneva, specifically to the World Trade Organisation and the International Labor Organisation, left an indelible impression

During the Winter School, in addition to educational lectures, students visited the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility. It is a research accelerator complex and a source of synchrotron radiation of the third generation, which is located in Grenoble.

"The Winter School was very fruitful, as I met the professors, who gave lectures on each of the subjects. I also managed to discuss my thesis with my academic supervisor. Visits to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Labor Organisation (ILO) were very informative. We were told about the ways organisations function, and what the procedure of the sessions is. We also visited the largest research accelerator complex Synchrotron and learned a lot about its functioning. This trip was full of meetings with new people from different countries. I am very grateful to the organisers of the Winter School for excellent organisation and for an opportunity to visit such interesting places", – Inga Kononovich, student from the Faculty of International Economic Relations.

In addition, the University of Grenoble Alpes organised a one-day trip to Geneva (Switzerland) for students of the Financial University to:
International Labor Organization (ILO) - a specialized agency of the United Nations, an international organisation which deals with regulating of labor relations.

The World Trade Organization - an international organisation, which was established January 1, 1995 to liberalise international trade and regulate trade and political relations among member states.

At the end of the program participants of the Winter School received certificates.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the organisers of the Winter School at Grenoble Alpes University for fascinating, informative, and interesting pastime. During only one week students had an opportunity to attend all the necessary courses, meet academic supervisors and clarify all questions that could possibly arise during the further training. Academic supervisors of master theses, as they are called in France, gladly shared their materials and professional knowledge.

It is really important that we combined studies with incredible trips to expand the outlook. Visits to the World Trade Organisation, the International Labor Organisation, and the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble have left an unforgettable impression. When visiting these places, we were told the most interesting scientific facts, which can be heard only from the employees of these organisations.

I also appreciate this opportunity for meeting very friendly, kind, and intelligent students from all over the world. It was useful and at the same time funny to listen to English speech with a Spanish or French accent.

If it is possible, I will definitely return to the University of Grenoble Alpes again!", – said Anastasia Basova, student of the Faculty of International Economic Relations.
