February 7, 2020, a new semester opening ceremony in the Swiss Academy for International Law took place in Geneva. Chairman of the Russian Bar Association S.V. Stepashin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Switzerland S.V. Garmonin, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva G.M. Gatilov, representatives of the leading Russian educational organisations and the legal community of the BRICS member states participated in the event.

Swiss Academy for International Law is a unique educational organisation, where all subjects are taught on a modular basis, and only joint educational programs are included in the curriculum. Currently, the Academy’s partners in these programs are Kutafin Moscow State Law University and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University). In the near future, it is planned to launch 5 master degree programs in cooperation with 10 educational organisations from Russia.

On behalf of the Financial University, Deputy Head of International Relations Office Alexey Sereda met with the heads of the Academy. Both sides expressed great interest in developing partnerships on the main and short-term educational programs and agreed to hold additional meetings in Moscow to consider the possibility of creating a special master degree program adapted to the needs of our university.
