On April 10, 2022, the FinU held an Open Doors Day for more than 3,000 guests. They learnt more about the history of the University, met Deans of the Faculties, found out information about academic programs and projects of the University. Those who were absent, but willing to come, had an opportunity to watch the event online, and more than 3,500 people joined online.

The FinU Rector Stanislav E. Prokofiev opened the meeting. In his welcoming speech, he noted that the FinU is the largest university where future economists and managers are trained. At the same time, the University is constantly improving education quality and launching even more fields of studies, i.e. IT, linguistics, philosophy and many others.

“The benchmark of our work is its position in international and Russian rankings. The University has consistently high positions among the best universities in the world, and it maintains high standards in demand for students and alumni,” noted Rector Prokofiev. 

“We support continuous education, which allows us to receive and update knowledge throughout life,” added Rector Prokofiev. 

The FinU has its own lyceum where we work with school students, implements many specialized bachelor’s, master’s, and postgraduate programs, including with the support of industrial partners. And this year, students will also have the opportunity to take additional advanced training courses and specialized programs in order to be more competitive in the labor market. 

Rector Prokofiev emphasized the importance of practice-oriented approaches to learning, and told the guests about the University’s scientific and international activities. Also he noted the importance and relevance of youth scientific laboratories and international projects in new specifications.

“At the FinU, we offer opportunities not only for educational and scientific development, but also for our students’ talent revealing,” added Rector Stanislav E. Prokofiev.

FinU Vice-Rector for Marketing and Working with Applicants Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya told the guests about the admission rules in 2022. She emphasized the specifics of how to file documents and what enrollment stages are. She also mentioned individual achievements and Olympiads and how they would be taken into account.

Vladimir Glotov, Deputy Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service and Head of Undergraduate and Graduate programs at the FinU, was also among guests at the Open Doors Day. 

He spoke about the joint work of the Department and the University in the relevant areas, and stressed the importance of fundamental theoretical knowledge and relevant practical skills in economics and finance.

​​Vladimir Glotov also told the guests about the International Financial Security Olympiad, which is held in accordance with the instructions of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Rosfinmonitoring, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education and Science on the basis of universities participating in the International Network Institute in the field of Countering Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.

The FinU is one of the leading venues for the Olympiad first qualifying stage.

​This year the Olympiad starts on May 16, and in October the best school and university representatives will compete in Sochi at the Educational Center “Sirius”. 

The winners are granted a special right when applying for bachelor’s degree programs at universities of the Russian Federation. The winners of the Olympiad will be equated to persons who have scored the USE score in a general education subject corresponding to the profile of the final stage.

At the Open Doors Day, future applicants also talked with volunteers and representatives of the University Student Council, took part in workshops, and watched a students’ amateur show.
