On April 6, 2022, at the initiative of the management of the Faculty of Economics and Business, negotiations were held between the representatives of the Financial University and the Russian-Armenian University. During the meeting, the parties touched upon a number of issues of cooperation in the field of education and science.​

 

Mariam Voskanyan, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance, Irina Petrosyan, Head of the Department of Economic Theory and Problems of Transition Economy, Ani Avetisyan, Head of the Department of Mathematical Methods and Information Technologies in Economics and Business, and Liana Markaryan, Head of the International Department, participated in the meeting behalf of the Russian-Armenian University.

 

Ekaterina Bezsmertnaya, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, opened the meeting and welcomed the representatives of the Russian-Armenian University.

 

“I am glad to welcome all the participants of today’s meeting. We are very pleased that our colleagues from the Russian-Armenian University supported our initiative to strengthen relations in international cooperation,” says Ekaterina Bezsmertnaya.

 

Mariam Voskanyan, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance of the Russian-Armenian University,  noted the history of relations between the parties and the personal contribution of Professor Dmitry Sorokin to the development of bilateral relations between universities.

 

“We are very interested in developing joint educational programs, as well as international mobility programs among scientific and pedagogical workers,” says Mariam Voskanyan.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the main directions of academic and scientific cooperation, among which special attention was paid to the development of international academic mobility programs for scientific and pedagogical workers and students. The parties agreed to start working on the cooperation agreement, which will become the legal basis for further interaction between the universities. In addition, both parties are ready to start developing joint educational programs in areas of mutual interest.

 

The event was also attended by Head of International Relations Department Lilia Prikhodko, Deputy Head of International Relations Department Alexey Sereda, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Tatiana Kharitonova, Deputy Dean for Graduate and Postgraduate Studies Marina Pukhova, as well as Deputy Dean for Research Irina Merkulina and Deputy Dean for International Cooperation Khvicha Kharchilava.

 

“Today we not only exchanged contacts but also outlined a plan of steps for further cooperation in the educational and scientific fields. The faculty have already expressed their interest in holding classes at the RAU, so we will start working in the very near future,” notes Khvicha Kharchilava.
