From May 10 to May 19, 2011, a group of students from the University on Cologne, one of the largest and leading universities in Germany, paid a visit to Financial University.
The visit took place within the framework of a five-year interuniversity cooperation in the field of education and science, on the basis of the current Memorandum. It is the sixth student group exchange between the University of Cologne and Financial University (a group of students from our University was in Cologne in April 2011).
The educational and orientation program during the University of Cologne students’ stay in Moscow was very rich. Students attended the speeches of the leading professors of Financial University. The presentation of our University was made by the Director of the Center for International Educational and Research Cooperation, Professor V.V. Doumny.
The lectures given by the leading professors of Financial University were highly informative. The topics were the following: “Culture and Art of Russia”, “Problems of External Debt Management in Russia in the Context of the Ongoing Crisis”, “Russian Companies and Banks in International Markets”, “Russian Medium-Sized Enterprises and Innovations”.
German students visited various financial institutions, such as OJSC Gazprombank and audit firms «KPMG» and «Ernst&Young».
The cultural program included visiting the Tretyakov State Gallery, Kolomenskoye Museum-Preserve, the Moscow Kremlin, Vorobyovy Gory, as well as the memorial complex “Victory Park” at Poklonnaya Gora.
Well-organized and rich program allowed the students from Cologne to form a more full understanding of the economical situation in the country and to broaden their awareness of Russian history and culture.
Before their departure from Moscow on Wednesday, 18 May 2011, German students received the certificates of successful completion of educational and orientation program, as well as souvenirs with symbols of Financial University. The students of Financial University organized a great cultural and entertainment program for the guests which took place in the business club “Financier”. The students from Cologne expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit one of the leading economic universities in Russia, and were even interested in continuing their studies in Financial University.
