On 6 April the delegation of the Bank Academy under the State Bank of Vietnam including To Ngok Hung, President of the Bank Academy, head of the delegation, To Kim Ngok, Vice President of the Bank Academy, Director of the international Educational Center, Chan Kuok Kuong, Dean of the Postgraduate Faculty, had meetings with M. Eskindarov, Rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation , B. Smitienko, Pro-rector for Academic Affairs, and M. Fedotova, Pro-rector for Research.
During his meeting with the Rector President of the Bank Academy dwelled on relevant problems discussed at the International Scientific and Methodological Conference “Multilevel Financial and Economic Education in Russia: Problems of Introduction of Competence Approach”. He specially noted that raising quality of education is the global problem for the modern world and that some solutions proposed by the speakers at the Conference he found very interesting. M. Eskindarov thanked To Ngok Hung for his substantive presentation “Specialized Professional Education: Orientation on the Needs of Students” which the Vietnamese guest made at the meeting of the education and methodology council special section Finance and Credit. During the meeting the parties reached certain agreements on promoting further cooperation and working out the details of activities to implement provisions of the Annexes to the Cooperation Agreement signed in Vietnam in February.
During the meeting with Pro-rector M. Fedotova, the parties reached an agreement on the participation of the Financial University in scientific and practical Conference “Monetary Policy of Russia and Vietnam and problems of Financial Stability” due to be held in November 2011 in commemoration of the Bank Academy’s 50th anniversary. The Vietnamese delegation was especially interested in Ms Fedotova’s works on property evaluation. Some of them are very well known in Vietnam. Participants of the meeting also planned activities to further promote scientific research cooperation.
During the meeting with Pro-rector B. Smitienko the delegation discussed subsequent working plans for development of educational projects. Mr B. Smitienko noted that cooperation in the sphere of education is directly linked to cooperation between the countries in banking sector and real sector of economy, that is why over last decades there was a decline in the intensity of contacts. He expressed confidence that this period had been overcome as now we have not only new generation of students but also new generation of professors.
