On 21 March 2011 Nicholas Ordway, Professor of the University of Hawaii (the USA), who came to the Financial University as visiting professor had a meeting with Prof. M. Fedotova, Pro-rector for Research, Head of the Valuation and Property Management Chair. N. Lysova, Associate Professor of the Valuation and Property Management Chair, also took part in the meeting on the part of the Financial University.
During the discussion the participants exchanged information on appraisal activities in Russia and the USA, specifics of functioning of self-regulating organizations, effective appraisal standards. Much attention was devoted to the problems of valuation activities in the USA which appeared in post crisis period, ways of finding solutions to these problems and changes introduced with regard to regulating this type of activities.
Program of Prof. Ordway stay at the Financial University was also discussed during the meeting. In particular the participants discussed the most interesting and relevant issues to be tackled in the lectures, when presenting the case «A CASE ON THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY’S DEVELOPMENT OF ITS ORLANDO PROPERTY» on 23 March and at the round table discussion Problems of Real Estate and Land Valuation under Conditions of Emerging Markets on 24 March 2011.
