About the Faculty
The Financial University started teaching financiers with advanced mathematical training in 2000. The Faculty has an Academic Council which unites the Department of Applied Mathematics, the Department of Information Technologies, the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Theory of Probability and Mathematical Statistics, the Department of Mathematical Modeling of Economic Processes and System Analysis in Economics.
We boasts of highly qualified faculty members, among those who teach relevant subjects at the Financial University there are more than twenty Doctors of Sciences and Professors and about fifty Associate Professors and PhDs. Research papers of our Faculty’s professors are well-known in Russia and abroad.
In 2010 the Faculty will start training of Bachelors majoring in Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies and Applied Informatics. This Bachelor degree program will provide high quality fundamental education in mathematics and IT. Our graduates will be able to work in the sphere of financial analysis, risk management, actuarial activities as well as in any economic and financial sphere where application of mathematical and new information technologies is indispensable. Those who complete their Bachelor’s degree will have a possibility to continue studies and take a Master’s degree or enroll in a postgraduate program at one of the Faculty’s departments.
