VISIT OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF AUSTRIA
On August 17 and 18, the representatives of the educational system of the Republic of Austria visited Financial University: from the Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture of the Republic of Austria –Mag. phil., MinR, Hanspeter Huber, Secretary General, Mag. rer. nat., SektChef, Wolfgang Schtelzmüller, Deputy Minister, Ms. Ursula Maurič, Coordinator of Educational Programs; from the Pedagogical University of Vienna – Mag. Dr. Dagmar Hackl, MEd, Rector; from Austrian-Russian Friendship Society – Mr. Florian Stermann, Managing President, and Prof. Dr. Svetlana Derbicheva, Member of the Board and Authorized Representative in the Russian Federation.
Colleagues were received by the representatives of Financial University: Dr. Nelli M. Rozina, Deputy Rector/Methodology&Regional Development, Tatiana V. Lobaeva, Deputy Rector/Construction&Logistics, Prof. Dr. N.M. Abdikeev, Assistant of Deputy Rector/Innovative Development of Financial University, Dr. Pavel S. Seleznev, Deputy Director of the Center for Educational and Research Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Alexander I. Ilyinsky, Dean of International Finance Faculty of the Financial University, and other staff members.
The Austrian delegation arrived to discuss cooperation in education, as well as a possibility to open an Austro-Russian school in Moscow.
The representatives of the Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture of the Republic of Austria pointed out that the cooperation at the level of schools and involvement of the leading universities in this process is one of their main aims of international cooperation. In their presentation, Austrian colleagues told about a unique national system of professional education, based on close contact with the real economy and providing extensive use of advanced innovative approaches and teaching methods, including advanced information technologies. In this regard, they put high hopes on the participation of Financial University in the creation of the Austrian-Russian school.
Deputy Director of the Center for Educational and Research Cooperation of the Financial University, Dr. Pavel S. Seleznev, made a presentation of Financial University and told about the main directions of international cooperation, as well as the prospects for the development of new joint educational programs, such as “double degree” programs. Dean of International Finance Faculty of the Financial University, Prof. Dr. Alexander I. Ilyinsky, shared the experience of the faculty’s cooperation with schools in terms of training the prospective students and enriching their knowledge in the field of economics and finance. Deputy Rector/Construction&Logistics, Tatiana V. Lobaeva, made a number of proposals that will accelerate the solution of a question of opening the school. In particular, a suggestion was made to consider a reconstruction of school buildings in the town of Chelobitevo, Moscow region.
Following the results of a two-day effective work, both sides made a mutual decision on the further cooperation, as well as decision on the need for joint detailed work on the legal, infrastructural, technical, economic and financial aspects of the Austrian-Russian school project. Common efforts will allow to implement the best achievements of Austrian experience in the fields of architecture, engineering and educational technologies in Russia.
Austrian colleagues expressed their gratitude to Financial University for a very high level of organization of the visit, productivity and thoroughness of the meetings, and for hospitality.
