On 17 November 2011, President Elect of the European University Association (EUA) Prof. Maria Helena Nazare paid a visit to the Financial University. Prof. Nazare has been appointed for a term of 2012 to 2015, and will officially assume office in March 2012.
From 1978 to 1988, Maria Helena was the President of many departmental commissions; in 1990 she was made Vice-President of the University of Aveiro (Portugal) Scientific Commission. In 2002 Prof. Nazare was elected Rector of the University of Aveiro and became a board member of the European University Association (EUA) in March 2009.
The Financial University has been a full member of the European University Association since 21 October 2011. The European University Association (EUA) is one of the Readers of European higher education community. The Association represents interests of many universities and acts as an adviser to the European Commission.
